Nebraska U.S. Senator Deb Fischer has been appointed to the Senate Agriculture Committee.
Fischer will take the seat vacated by former Senator Luther Strange of Alabama. Nebraska has not held a seat on the Ag Committee since Senator Ben Sasse (sass) left last year to join Judiciary and Armed Services.
Fischer told the Lincoln Journal Star she’s pleased to be joining the committee. “It’s important to have a Nebraskan on that committee to be a fighter for rural America,” she said.
