Soybeans were modestly lower on profit taking and commercial selling. Near term forecasts for South America remain mixed, generally better for Brazil and for Argentina. Some longer term outlooks do have a better chance of rain in Argentina, which would be welcome at this point. Unknown destinations and Egypt bought U.S. beans, but the big factor was position squaring ahead of several USDA reports Friday. The USDA will be issuing updated quarterly stocks numbers, new supply and demand estimates, and the final 2017 corn and soybean production totals.
