At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed lower on technical pressure and the strong possibility of lower cash trade this week. While wholesale prices have been supportive, the East Coast’s inclement weather could be negatively impacting retail beef demand. February live cattle closed $2.02 at $117.22 and April live cattle closed $1.55 lower at $119.30. January feeder cattle closed $.17 lower at $146.45 and March feeder cattle closed $.05 at $141.92.
