Michigan applicators are putting a heavy emphasis on pesticide and nutrient education training as part of EPA’s new standards.
Michigan Agri-Business Association vice president Tim Boring tells Brownfield custom applicators will have their first taste of new training protocols from Monsanto and BASF this week as part of new requirements for using dicamba products. “I think in large respect is the fact that we’ve got custom applicators, we’ve got private farmers that do a good job of managing pesticide technologies like this, we just haven’t seen the same kinds of issues.”
Michigan Business representative Jon Rush with BASF says several other company training meetings will be taking place throughout the spring.
