Farmers are concerned Japanese beetles will be a bigger problem in 2018.
University of Minnesota Extension entomologist Ken Ostlie says the insect has been around for a long time, but wasn’t considered much of a threat to crops until recently.
“It’s an insect that has a broad host-range affecting many things in your front yard or in the landscape. It also can affect soybeans and can even prune silks on corn.
