Group pushes for internet access on low frequency spectrum

A group called Connect Americans Now (CAN) is working with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to enable every U.S. market to have broadband connectivity by 2022.
The group wants the FCC to exercise its authority to make unlicensed television white spaces spectrum available for high-speed internet.
TV white space is bandwidth below 700 megahertz made available on an unlicensed basis. Wireless signals in that range can travel over hills and through buildings and trees, making it appropriate for so-called last mile broadband access in rural areas.
