Indiana Farm Bureau’s associate policy advisor says strengthening rural quality of life is one of Indiana Farm Bureau’s 2018 legislative priorities.
Shelby Swain says eliminating food deserts and increasing access to rural broadband will help accomplish that.
Other priorities include protecting livestock farmers and operations, limiting annexation, and ensuring assessment uniformity.
Swain says farmers can help accomplish priorities by talking to legislators.
The Indiana state legislative session runs through March 14.
