The end of the holiday season is not the end for most real Christmas trees.
Marsha Gray with the Christmas Tree Promotion Board tells Brownfield many communities offer Christmas tree collections where they will be recycled, but where ever they end up, real trees benefit the environment. “Most Christmas trees get chipped into mulch. They can be used in parks, walkways, other project areas for filler.”
Gray says many places even use Christmas trees to create habitats or prevent erosion.
