
Direct cash cattle trade is kicking off the new year quiet with the action limited to the distribution of new showlists. Don’t look for significant trade volume to develop until the latter part of the week. Last week saw a light to moderate trade reported Friday afternoon with Northern dressed trade ranging from $193.00 to $195.00 and mostly at $195, $5 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. Southern live deals were mostly $123.00, about $3.00 higher than the previous week’s average.
