
A mid-week storm near the Atlantic Seaboard will graze coastal areas with wind and precipitation, including some snow. Another batch of bitterly cold air will trail the storm, mainly across the Midwest and Northeast. Meanwhile, mild air will spread eastward, reaching the High Plains by week’s end. Aside from the Atlantic Seaboard and areas downwind of the Great Lakes, significant precipitation will be confined to the Far West. Five-day totals could reach 1 to 3 inches in northern California and the Pacific Northwest, with snow spreading into the northern Rockies and Intermountain West by the weekend.
