At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, it was another day of light trade volume and feeder cattle futures closed higher on position squaring ahead of the new year and the day’s lower move in corn. However live cattle futures closed lower on profit taking ahead of the long holiday weekend. December live cattle closed $1.55 lower at $123.00 and February live cattle closed $.70 lower at $121.55. January feeder cattle closed $.40 higher at $146.00 and March feeder cattle closed $.45 higher at $142.67.
