Iowa farmers and applicators who plan to use dicamba herbicide products on soybeans in 2018 will be required to attend a dicamba-specific training program.
Iowa deputy ag secretary Mike Naig says the dicamba training will be separate from the pesticide applicator continuing instruction courses that are already in place. He says the expanded training requirement is based on the need to provide Iowa farmers and applicators with training around the risks associated with dicamba and should help reduce problems associated with off-target movement.
