Direct cash cattle trade is quiet. The lackluster showing at the Fed Cattle Exchange did nothing to spark any trade activity today. DTN reports some rumblings of asking prices around $122.00 to $125.00 in the South but nothing yet out of the North. Significant trade volume looks to be delayed until Thursday or even Friday.
Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange had 637 head offered with zero head sold. Last week’s offering had 466 head offered with 239 sold for 1-9 Day Delivery for a weighted average of $120.00.
