Soybeans were firm on commercial and technical buying, managing to stay above the recent lows in thin trading volume. China bought 252,000 tons of 2017/18 U.S. beans ahead of a reported change to cleanliness requirements for imports. The agreement remains unconfirmed by the government, but the National Grain and Feed Association says the USDA and Beijing reached the accord after complaints about excessive foreign materials. Crop conditions in South America look good with more rain in many near term forecasts.
