An analyst warns farmers not to get complacent in the grain markets during the holidays.
Elaine Kub tells Brownfield this is the time of year when funds tend to reestablish positions.
“So sometimes there can be volatility in these last few trading days of the year, especially if there is low participation or low volume.”
She says downward pressure on corn and soybean futures is expected to continue the remainder of 2017, meaning farmers with cash grain positions this calendar year need to be selling.
