Farmers in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin now qualify for additional USDA assistance programs.
St. Louis County Minnesota was named a primary natural disaster area because of excessive moisture and flooding from August through October. This also makes programs available to farmers and ranchers in adjacent Aitkin, Carlton, Itasca, Koochiching and Lake Counties plus Douglas County Wisconsin eligible for assistance.
Local FSA offices can help farmers evaluate which programs they are eligible for.
