The USDA says domestic red meat, beef, and pork production all hit new monthly highs in November.
Beef production was 2.290 billion pounds, 2% more than November 2016, with a 3% increase in the slaughter to 2.761 million head cancelling out an 11 pound decrease in the average live weight to 1,373 per head.
Pork production was 2.245 billion pounds, up slightly on the year, with a 1% decrease in the kill to 10.548 million head and 3 pound gain in the average live weight at 286 pounds.
