Direct cash cattle business may be mostly wrapped up for the week after Wednesday’s moderate activity. It looks like many buyers wanted to take a long holiday weekend and not wait until after Friday’s USDA cattle on feed report. The bulk of the business was done at $120 on the live basis, up about $.50 on the week, and $191 dressed, $2 higher than the previous week’s weighted average in Nebraska. Some clean-up has been reported in Nebraska at $120 live and $190 to $191 dressed and in Iowa at $120.
