Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher on short covering and support from the week’s direct cash business, squaring up ahead of Friday’s USDA cattle on feed report. The report is out at Noon Eastern/11 Central. December was up $.22 at $119.62 and February was $.72 higher at $119.67.
Feeder cattle were supported by oversold signals and short covering, also while getting ready for the on feed numbers. January was $1.15 higher at $142.92 and March was up $.65 at $140.40.
