The USDA Foreign Ag Service (FAS) says the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) has boosted American ag exports to South Korea almost $1 billion dollars the last three years.
In its latest Agricultural Trade Report, FAS shows average U.S. exports to the Asian country have risen from $5.4 billion before KORUS went into effect, to $6.37 billion today.
FAS attributes the success largely to tariff reduction and the lifting of non-tariff barriers through the trade agreement.
