At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed sharply lower on technical liquidation in light trade volume with additional pressure from the sharp decline in wholesale beef prices and bearish expectations for Friday’s Cattle on Feed report. The day’s higher move in corn also added pressure to feeder cattle prices – which closed at their lowest level since early September. December live cattle closed $.60 lower at $119.40 and February live cattle closed $1.50 lower at $118.95.
