House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway says the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that passed the U.S. House today (Tuesday) will deliver “historic tax relief to families, farmers, ranchers and small businesses” and “all of rural America.” He says the bill “acknowledges the unique tax challenges” faced by agriculture. The National Farmers Union has been the most vocal ag group against the measure. The Senate will vote on the compromise bill tonight. The vote was along party lines: 227 Republicans voted in favor, 203 Democrats against.
