Direct cash cattle markets are at a standstill and could stay that way until the second half of the week. The big question seems to be whether or not buyers and sellers want to take a long holiday weekend or are willing to wait until after Friday’s USDA cattle on feed report. This week’s showlist looks generally smaller than last week, except for Nebraska. Asking prices are expected to be around $122+ on the live basis and $193+ dressed.
