The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) is among 50 organizations asking Congress to approve a tax extenders package that includes the Biodiesel Tax Credit.
NBB chief operating officer Doug Whitehead says bringing back the $1 dollar-per-gallon subsidy that expired at the end of 2016 would signal more stability for biodiesel.
“That’s a signal that Congress appreciates the biodiesel industry, understands the manufacturing jobs we’re responsible for are important, the future of this industry is important, and it will tell investors and employers to hang in there and keep fighting.”
NBB and American Farm Bureau say temporary tax provisions like the biodiesel credit positively impact vital sectors of the U.S.
