Direct cash cattle trade is quiet with business limited to the distribution of new showlists.  The pre-Christmas offering is expected to be generally steady with last week or even slightly larger.  With the long weekend ahead, both sides would like to wrap-up business early this week.  But, don’t look for trade volume to pick up until at least Wednesday and business could hold out even longer as it anticipates Friday afternoon’s Cattle on Feed report.
