An associate professor and director of extension at Purdue University says a marketing shift in US exports has helped to improve farm income.
Jason Henderson says there has been a 30 percent increase in exports of US value-added and processed foods.
“As demographics shift and changes occur the expectations is that will continue to increase and so we have to figure out how we do we turn our bulk commodities into value-added products that meet global food demand,” he says.
