A farm marketer says the Amish helped him transport and save a 150 year-old barn from disrepair.
Phil Schwallier has been growing fruit in the heart of Michigan’s apple country in Sparta for nearly 40 years. He tells Brownfield he and his wife had their eye on the neighbor’s barn as a possible addition to their farm market for the past decade. “About 10 years ago Judy and I were looking at a big barn, an old standard barn 150 year-old, and we wanted to buy it and move it to our farm because it was being neglected.
