The USDA had declared 29 Michigan counties as disaster areas because of losses and damages from excessive rain in early April. Border counties in Wisconsin are also eligible for assistance.
Eighteen counties throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, thumb and central regions that experienced losses and damages caused by excessive rain on April 1st and after have been designated primary disaster areas. Eleven additional counties in Michigan and five in Wisconsin (Florence, Forest, Iron, Marinette and Vilas) are also eligible for assistance through the Farm Service Agency.
