The Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Dairy Export Council says trade deals are vital because dairy needs the export market.
COO Matt McKnight told producers and processors trade deals like NAFTA are very important since Mexico remains a huge buyer of U.S. dairy products. He says with a 2022 projected gap between production and domestic dairy consumption of 32 billion pounds of milk, the U.S. has to aggressively pursue the export market.
