An ag economist says trade continues to play a large role in farmer profitability.
University of Missouri’s Scott Brown says USDA points out that 20 percent of farm income in this country is a result of what happens from trade.
He tells Brownfield, long-term, the US ag economy will become more dependent on export markets and less on domestic demand.
And while Canada and Mexico are vital trading partners, the US must look beyond its bordering countries.
