The president of Iowa Farm Bureau calls this a very fragile time for agriculture.
Craig Hill says strong crop production years have helped ease the constraint of continued low commodity prices.
“But I think as we look forward, we’re concerned about that average year. Because if we have the price levels we have today with an average crop, we’re all going to be in the red.”
Hill, who farms in central Iowa, tells Brownfield livestock producers remain concerned about foreign animal diseases.
