An Upper Midwest commodity group leader says this is a great time to evaluate the 2017 growing season.
Kirby Hettver, president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, tells Brownfield he and other farmers should be reviewing AT LEAST the last two years.
“We spend a lot of time looking at data to figure out what we can do better (so) we can be more efficient on the farm. My brother and I are discussing the response to starter fertilizer this year in various scenarios.”
He says low commodity prices are weighing heavy with 2018 planning underway.
