Market watcher Matt Roberts says there’s a profit to be made on the large corn crop if the right infrastructure is in place, in other words, storage. There’s a lot of corn, for sure, but Roberts says the key is understanding how basis and carry work in the futures market. Roberts, formerly with Ohio State University, is the founder of the private consulting firm The Kernmantle Group. He says there’s a lot of corn globally and domestically – the most since 2001.
