Illinois Farm Bureau delegates have adopted a new policy supporting solar energy with protections for farmers and landowners in the state.
The new policy supports the establishment of statewide standards for commercial solar energy conversion systems that protect public health and safety and protects private property rights.
Mike Orso is news and communications director for Illinois Farm Bureau. He says, “there are a lot of companies trolling Illinois farmers and landowners to use their land for solar energy collection.”
The just adopted policy opposes giving private solar energy companies public utility status.
