Soybeans were higher on start of the month and quarter commercial and technical buying. Crop conditions in most of South America look good right now, but it’s roughly early June for their crops, so there’s a long way to go. Also, while the reliability of long term forecasts can, and should, be taken with a grain of salt, some longer term outlooks for Argentina are drier, which would fit in with the current weak La Nina pattern.
