The USDA has increased its export forecast for Fiscal Year 2018 by one-billion-dollars from its August estimate, to $140-Billion. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says much of the anticipated success is because of “robust sales” to East Asia and North American trading partners. He says China is shaping up to be the top market for the U.S. led by continued strong soybean sales.
Perdue says agriculture’s trade surplus is expected to grow eight-percent, from a little over $21 billion last year to $23 billion in 2018.
