Pork exports have hit an all-time high this year with nearly 30 percent of pork products being exported.
Bill Even is the CEO of the National Pork Board.
“20 some years ago the US was a net pork importer and now fast forward to 2017 and we have 27 percent of our product moving,” he says. “That is the reason why we’re getting the new packing plants built and why we’re getting the new barns built in the countryside- it’s an incredible growth story.”
He tells Brownfield that growth in the pork industry is possible with trade agreements like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
