Soybeans were modestly lower on profit taking and technical selling. Many near term forecasts have more rain in parts of South America, but longer term outlooks for Argentina do have some question marks. It’s the equivalent of late May for crops in the Southern Hemisphere. In Brazil, AgRural says 84% of soybeans are planted, compared to the five year average of 79%. Soybean meal was lower and bean oil was higher on the adjustment of product spreads.
