Many Iowa farmers wrapped up fall fieldwork last week.
In its latest crop update, the USDA says corn harvest statewide is 96 percent complete—about a week behind average.
Only southwest and south-central Iowa have more than five percent of their corn for grain crop remaining to be harvested.
Corn moisture content is averaging 17 percent.
Iowa farmers continue baling corn stalks, tiling, terracing, spreading manure, and applying fertilizers.
