A southeast Minnesota farmer considers this year’s average crop yields disappointing.
Ed McNamara of Goodhue grows corn and soybeans and says he finished harvest last week.
“Those are the promises we have when we stick a seed in the ground and apply our plant nutrients and crop protection (products). I guess Mother Nature still has the final say on whether or not the timing on those particular applications are going to work or not work.”
He tells Brownfield rain in May and unseasonably cool August temperatures negatively impacted crops.
