Money for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative is part of a U.S. Senate appropriations bill. Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin says the 300-million dollars secured in the spending bill is an economic necessity for the region.
If the spending plan passes, it will continue to fund the clean-up of polluted sites, restore water quality and combat invasive species throughout the Great Lakes region.
