There are reports NAFTA negotiations are being stymied by what U.S. officials call a reluctance by Canada and Mexico to offer counter-proposals on key issues.
Bloomberg cites people close to discussions saying American negotiators are especially frustrated with Canada for publicly stating some U.S. NAFTA positions are unacceptable, without presenting alternatives to the negotiating table.
Some of the major sticking points involve regional content requirements and dispute settlement, according to those sources.
