Midday cash livestock markets

Direct cash cattle trade has been quiet and it looks like the bulk of trade has been completed for the week. However – there could be a little cleanup trade yet this afternoon.
Boxed beef is mixed at the midday on light to moderate box movement. Choice is $1.68 lower at $208.56 and Select is $1.04 higher at $188.87. The Choice/Select spread is $19.69.
At the Ogallala Livestock Auction in Nebraska compared to two weeks ago lightweight steer calves were mostly steady, heavier weight steer calves were $2.00 to $4.00 lower.
