Yield drag in dicamba-injured soybean fields has not been an issue this harvest season but experts say that doesn’t mean growers can look the other way. Jean Payne, President of the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association, says specialty crops are also highly susceptible. And, retailers who are applicators are held accountable when damage occurs, whatever the reason. Payne says, “If you’re an operator with 15 and 20 years’ experience and you take a lot of pride in your work and you still end up with five or six warning letters and you can’t explain what you did wrong – those people are very troubled by that.
