A petition of more than one-million signatures asking the federal government to block the merger of Bayer and Monsanto his being delivered to the Department of Justice today.

The petitions were gathered by a dozen groups including the Center for Food Safety, Food and Water Watch, Organic Consumers Association, Sierra Club and Sum-of-Us.

The groups say the merger will hurt ag producers and consumers, “You know, this is our food system.
