Chicago Mercantile Exchange cattle futures ended the day sharply lower on technical selling. Additional market pressure is likely to continue ahead of next week’s Thanksgiving holiday through the balance of November. The lack of support from the wholesale trade isn’t helping mitigate losses. December live cattle closed $1.07 lower at $119.50 and February live cattle closed $1.25 lower at $125.15. Sharp declines in the feeder cattle is also adding to the overall lack of support to the livestock trade.
