Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary John Block says he’s astounded that the seating of USDA political appointees has taken as long as it has. He says the Trump election team didn’t plan enough for putting appointees in place in case of a win, but he says despite that, the agency remains in capable hands.
“Fortunately, the USDA has a lot of good people, career people that are very good, and they keep the wheels turning,” Block told Brownfield Ag News, “so thank you to them.”
Among concerns that Block has about the Trump administration, is the re-negotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
