Soybeans were modestly higher on commercial and technical buying. Demand is good and the USDA did trim production, yield, and ending stocks numbers slightly Thursday. That said, the USDA and the trade continue to expect record domestic production, largely because of record acreage. This year’s U.S. harvest could be close to wrapping up in many key growing areas. Recent rainfall in Brazil has fallen short of expectations and parts of Argentina are drier, but there is still a long way to go for this year’s South American soybean crops.
