Oklahoma Beef Checkoff referendum voted down

The Oklahoma Beef Checkoff Referendum has been voted down.
State ag department officials announced the results Thursday, reporting just under 2,000 votes in favor and more than 2,500 against.
The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association calls it an unfortunate loss for the Oklahoma beef industry, saying investment in a state-level checkoff would’ve greatly increased opportunities to market, promote, and educate consumers about beef.
R-CALF USA, which opposed the checkoff, says they are proud to stand with their Oklahoma members.
