Tofu is made from soybeans and research has tied soy-based foods (especially soy proteins) to better heart health, and prevention of certain diseases such as diabetes and breast cancer. A half-cup of tofu has 10 grams of protein – that’s 20% of the daily recommended amount of protein. Linda Funk – with the Soy Foods Council – explains how tofu is made.
